The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, otherwise known as the Clery Act, applies to certain crimes reported to the police and other College officials known as Campus Security Authorities (CSAs). The Clery Act defines CSAs as mandated crime reporters. CSAs are required to report any crimes specified in the Clery Act to Dartmouth College Safety and Security (DoSS). Prompt reporting of crimes is sometimes required by law, and encouraged in all cases.
DoSS will use the submitted information to verify the appropriate crime classification, to issue Timely Warnings to the community when necessary, to compile statistics to be included in the Annual Security Reports which Dartmouth College publishes and distributes each year, and to maintain the Crime Log, all as required by the Clery Act. If a crime has occurred recently, or you need help with this form, please call DoSS right away at (603) 646-4000.
